Register Opera for Free on   Wednesday, August 31, 2005

Im 10. So, Register (me) Opera for Free

Opera, the much liked browser is free to use from December 2000, challenging IE & Netscape. But there was an Ad bar seen while browsing. It can be removed by registering the copy for $40. For its 10th anniversary, the registration charge is kept free, may be for a day or two. So,  soon who are using/interested in Opera, can register by giving your email Id. The registration process is very simple. Go ahead !!!!

I have used Opera & its was really nice. But the Ad bar was the problem. Once told, I found that it ate more than 10 % of my 56.6Kbps dial-up bandwidth. Since then, I didn't use it. Now its free, so im gonna give a try ;-)

Toshiba already rules the 1.8 inch HDD segment with a market share of 85%. Now they have come up with a new HDD with  Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR).

Toshiba's PMR HDD

As of now this HDD is for CE devices like Portable Media Players, Gaming console, Imaging devices etc., This technology is based on a new magnetic disk structured to support perpendicular recording, a new high-performance perpendicular magnetic head, and disk and head integration technology that maximizes their combined performance. Conventional method is the Longitudinal Recording, which stores data on a magnetic disk as microscopic magnet bits aligned in plane.

I still have a 40MB HDD, which was manufactured by Seagate in 1990's, which is in the size of today's desktop HDD. But see the difference in the capacity!!!!

My mobile Nokia 6260 was playing this song from Ah Aah (Anbe Aaruyire), a tamil movie from SJ Surya. I was crazy about this song, so I ripped  to Mp3 a day back from the CD I bought.

Unconstipated traffic in Madras Central Station, so I was enjoying the song & the Kwality Walls Feast at 7:30 this evening. I was waiting for a bus to Mandaveli, where my office is located. Flock of girls passed by and the exact bus to my destination came. So I ran towards the bus with all these stuffs in mind.     "Aaaah..... ", I screemed, the icecream fell down. Everyone around me looked up. My leg got stuck into a small pit and I couldn't move. Then slowly I took it out and moved a bit away from that place. But I couldn't.  Then I realised that I have sprained my left leg.  Later, caught an auto-rickshaw and was back to my office. But, how will I drive my bike to my house???

Wi-Fi from BSNL on   Monday, August 08, 2005

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), to provide Wi-Fi access. I have heard that the  private operators are finding it difficult to increase their Wi-Fi customer base. I hope that BSNL is the best PSU in india, having all the lastest features in by its counterparts in the world. And service offered by them are seamlessly comparable to all the private operators in the country. They didn't miss to provide any service provided by its private-competitors. Im planning to review global Telecom giants, supporting BSNL ;-)

Even BSNL is having a website (Cellone.in)to provide Value Added Services for its mobile phone customers.

For more news/rates on BSNL Wi-Fi visit :  http://bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=222

My Stupidity Revealed 1 on   Wednesday, August 03, 2005

UMA, a cousin of mine invited me today for Breakfast (since, its a holyday for HINDUS - ADI 18, pronounced as aadee Pathi nhettu :: Adi is a month in Tamil Calendar, and Pathi nhettu is 18 in Tamil), and it was already 9 in the morning,  i was sitting before the PC. ;-)

I used to shave 2 days once(Monday, Wednesday & Friday), so today is the my due-date. I have to bath, shave, goto Office and before that I have to goto her house for breakfast....But I have only 30 minutes left.  So, after a wide-thinking, I left my PC to take a shower. I was feeling my hurriedness. When I kept my Mach 3 Razor, on my face I smelt something different, it was a mint flavour. I use Nivea shaving cream, and it smells pretty good. So with a tensed mood, I saw down, oops, my toothpaste cap was open...... Then I realised that I tried : Colgate shaving Cream!!!! Still you did't understand ??? Its my toothpaste, colgate. Instead of applying Nivea, I used Colgate. Both are near by.... with the same sized tube.....

Thank god, I didn't use RIN(a washing soap) instead of a bathing soap  or  Harpic(a porcelain basin cleaner) thinking it as a Shampoo......so, what do you think of me now ???
