After spending nearly 3.5 yrs with my Canon Powershot A610, I ended up buying a Canon EOS 1000D last month. As I always like to think of Canon/Nikon for camera, this time I considered Nikon D60, Nikon D3000 , Canon EOS 450D and Canon EOS 1000D. Later, I decided to go in for a cheapest one as its my first DSLR, then I narrowed down to Canon EOS 1000D and Nikon D3000, and later I picked Canon EOS 1000D.
The reviews of Canon EOS 1000D from some good camera reviewing sites are listed down.
My favorite site : DPReview
DCRP reviews “Photo quality was superb. The Rebel typically took well-exposed photos, with pleasing, accurate colors. A few photos could’ve been a little brighter, and I noticed a little highlight clipping, but both were minor issues.”
CNET.UK reviews “The Canon EOS 1000D is a safe bet for anyone buying their first digital SLR, and it has enough features to satisfy those who want to get more heavily into photography.”
Steve’s reviews on Canon EOS 1000D/Rebel XS “With outstanding image quality, very robust performance, and loads of useful exposure options, the Rebel XS will make a great camera for anyone who is just stepping into the dSLR realm..Overall, I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking at purchasing their first dSLR. “
CameraLabs reviews “The 1000D / XS. It’s a decent performer and sports all the features most new buyers will look for. The only real problem is its launch price, which at the time of writing in mid-2008 was higher than most rivals, and too close to the 450D / XSi for anyone to seriously consider it..”
