Wi-Fi Hotspots in Chennai Airport

Last week I went to Madras(Chennai) Airport to pick my brother. As I haven't accessed any Wi-Fi connection in Madras Airport, I took my new Laptop, to check out the Wi-Fi Hotspots.  BSNL, KingFisher & TATA-Indicom are the three networks available inside the Airport. Though I expected Sifys' Sify Wi-zone, but it was not there.

I tried connecting to KingFisher, which I have heard free in Bombay / Bangalore, but it didn't allow me. May be the Kingfisher passengers might get! I dont know. Similarly, I tried TATA Indicom, which is also a fee based service, so no access. I didnt thought of the free Internet from BSNL, but I remember IT Minister inaugurating it long time back. So I could get access to BSNL network which was slow like 64Kbps line. We cant expect more from a PSU service that too from a free service!!

Only TATA Indicom signal was good in most places of the Airport, from the International Terminal to the Domestic Terminal to the Car Park. That too in the Car Park, my Laptop could get TATA Indicom Wi-Fi Signal.

I didnt know why SIFYs' network was not available. But I remember reading its availability in some Business Dailies.

Anyway the free BSNL service is more than enough to check mails, but difficult to download any musics.
